I have recently finished reading “The Life-changing Magic of Tidying” by Japanese tidying expert, Marie Kondo.
It really is magic! My husband has been away from home for a few weeks, and I don’t think he’s going to believe what I’ve managed to get rid of, or how incredible organised my cupboards and drawers are looking.
Well, the amazing thing is that now that I’ve decluttered my things, I seem also to have decluttered the space in my head. There’s more room in there for a bit of creative thought, planning ahead and even some spare time for me to do the things I want to do.
This “decluttering” is one of the aims of Solution Focused work. By focusing on what is important , and releasing ourselves from the prison of negative thought, we make the way clear for the present, prioritising ourselves and those we love, and empowering ourselves by re discovering resources that have been hidden for a while beneath turmoil, stress and ‘clutter’.
