Help for Trauma and PTSD
Trauma and abuse often leave long-lasting evidence in our minds and bodies.
This evidence shows itself in different ways in different people. Some will become withdrawn, others will be angry, anxious or depressed.
For some people, the memories of the trauma are so vivid and frequent that they cause a continuous response resulting in panic attacks and over vigilance. For some this can mean rearranging their life to avoid anything that may ‘trigger’ the memories.
All of this is exhausting and debilitating.
You are not alone with PTSD
It is estimated that around 4% of the UK population suffers with PTSD, and this rises to 6% in the uniformed services. PTSD does not only show up in the victims of the trauma, but also in observers, those who assisted, and the perpetrator.
Traumatic memories differ from memories formed during ‘normal’ life, because they tend not to get archived in the same way.
There is help at hand for trauma
If you suffer from haunting traumatic memories that affect your daily life, I can help.
I am a certified practitioner of the Muss Rewind, a world-renowned technique that has helped thousands to manage their traumatic memories and begin to live a full life without anxiety and panic.
When we meet, I will ask you a few questions and you’ll complete a short questionnaire.
The beauty of the rewind for trauma and PTSD is that you don’t need to talk to me about the trauma, and I don’t need to know anything about it for the treatment to succeed.
If your answers to the questionnaire let me know that the rewind is a suitable technique, we can go ahead straight away. Often just one session is enough to lift the trauma, and I’ll see you again after two weeks to follow up and establish that it has gone well.
Other, non-traumatic fears
If your trauma is not suitable for treatment with the Muss rewind, we can proceed with another version of the same technique. This takes a little longer and is very effective over 3-4 sessions. This more traditional technique is often better for phobias and fears which have developed over time and are not associated with a single traumatic event.
