What is hypnotherapy?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a gentle, effective mix of psychotherapy and hypnosis. During a session, I use a combination of techniques, including the best of NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to reduce anxiety and allow clients to find solutions.

Hypnosis is a powerful tool for transformation, but also a very natural state, that we all experience every day. You will recognise trance – for example, when you are driving a familiar route and suddenly find yourself at your destination without having noticed certain landmarks, or when you are reading a book, and seem to have turned several pages without taking anything in! For the purposes of hypnotherapy, only a light trance is needed, allowing the mind to focus and the subconscious to be open to suggestion. At all times you, the client, are in complete control. It is a very relaxing and enjoyable sensation.*
